American Girl unveiled their 2025 Girl of the Year in September and that's Summer McKinny. From the first moment I saw her, I knew she was going to be special.

Thankfully, American Girl does an excellent job of giving these dolls an amazing backstory and Summer's is so cool. Not only is she starting her own business and an animal lover, but she's basically the embodiment of a dedicated pet parent.

In a press release shared with Dog o' Day, "Growing up in Columbia, Maryland, ten-year-old Summer is a dog lover and baker who turns her two passions into a business of her own." Since I frequently visited Columbia, Maryland while living there, that's pretty cool but it's also awesome that Summer is taking her hand at business so early.
