At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, gymnastics fans fell in love with team USA’s pommel horse specialist, Stephen Nedoroscik. And for good reason, not only for his medal worthy performances, but also his ability to go from Clark Kent to Superman when he steps up to the horse. Although we have to say that we are even more in love with him now that we know he is actually a cat dad.
While Nedoroscik’s only apparatus at the Olympics is pommel horse, he has truly made an impression on Olympic viewers. During the qualification round for the team event, he was on the sidelines cheering on his teammates and then when it was time, he stepped up and did what he was supposed to do for both his team and himself. And that doesn’t even take into account what he did during the team finals.
Honestly, Stephen Nedoroscik has made an impression at this Olympics. So we wanted to know more about him. And this lead us to his girlfriend Tess McCracken’s social media account, where she posted a picture of their orange cat in her Stories. It turns out, that they have a cat at home being watched by a cat sitter while they are in Paris for the games. And if you want to see pictures of Stephen with their kitty, she has those posted to X (formerly Twitter) too!
Stephen Nedoroscik is an orange cat dad as well as an Olympic medalist
Of course, knowing that Stephen Nedoroscik is a cat dad made us want to know more about their cat, who is apparently named Kyushu. According to Pet Helpful, Kyushu is named for Kitakyushu, which is where Stephen actually won the 2021 World Championship gold medal in pommel horse. It’s a cute name for a super cute cat.
Apparently, the couple’s orange cat is just like any other cat. He enjoys doing very catlike things and he is a fan of his cat tree. Plus, it seems that he will tolerate being cuddled by his humans, specifically Dad.
Now Kyushu will also have some shiny bronze medals to play with once his parents get home from Paris, and we love that for the adorable orange kitty. And we also love learning a little more about Stephen Nedoroscik, especially that he is a cat dad.
