Christmas has arrived and that means that 2023 is winding down. But at the same time, we are still on the hunt for some light holiday reading to tide us over until the new year hits. Luckily for us, we have one heading our way thanks to USA Today bestselling author, Morticia Knight.

For anyone unfamiliar with Knight's work, she is a gay romance author with a wide range of romantic genres under her belt including some incredible science-fiction/fantasy stories. However, we are truly excited for her upcoming work, Christmas Has Gone to the Dogs. Obviously, as a dog and pet-centric website, we are here for all things dog related, and that includes stories featuring pups.

With Christmas Has Gone to the Dogs, we don't just have a dog in the picture, we actually have a leading man who is volunteering at an animal shelter. And thanks to a teaser that the author posted to her Facebook group, we already know that this will be a must-read.

This book has an introvert who is good with the animals, a man who is just as much intrigued by that introvert as he is hoping to make a difference at the shelter, and of course a number of dogs with personalities of their own. And even though it was only a teaser, it is quite clear that the shelter and these dogs are going to play a major part of this story and romance.

Want a small tease from the teaser? Check it out here:

"The shelter was alive with energy as dogs of all sizes and breeds leaped against their enclosures or paced restlessly in anticipation. The atmosphere was much more hectic than the evenings, which was when Cal typically had the time to put in a shift. He’d only managed a few Saturdays in the six months or so since he’d been volunteering.
Cal smiled at the sight of Daisy, one of the shelter’s longtime residents. The Golden Retriever wiggled her butt with her tail flying, tongue hanging from her open mouth as she panted in excitement. Sarah, one of the volunteers, fussed with her harness, clearly getting her ready for a walk."

Honestly, we can't wait to get our hands on this particular romance, especially with the dogs and shelter at the heart of this story. Considering we have loved everything else we have read from Morticia Knight, we can't wait for this one to drop online for us to read.
