Amal and George Clooney have added a new furry addition to their family

It has been a very puppy filled weekend leading up to Valentine’s Day. Not only did we have the magic of the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet (and a whole slew of other streamers and channels), but it seemed like a ton of celebs were also sharing their pups on social media. And while they didn’t share on social media, Amal and George Clooney did in fact share their own puppy with the world.

According to Hello Magazine, on February 10 the Clooney’s were spotted out and about in the south of France in a small village. And they had the newest addition to their family with them. That new addition is an adorable and fluffy puppy named Nelson, who just so happens to be a St. Bernard.

Apparently, Nelson was a gift to Amal for her 46th birthday from George, and clearly the puppy is a perfect fit with the family. In pictures taken of the power couple, Amal Clooney could be seen carrying Nelson in her arms as they walked the streets of the village of Cotignac. In one picture, George Clooney is still holding onto the pup’s leash, even as he snuggles in his mom’s arms. In a second picture, Nelson is basically ready for a nap (we totally get that feeling).

Of course, there were other pictures as well. And one of the cutest features, the puppy sitting on the ground as Amal looks down at him, and George Clooney looks on. It is just such a perfect picture that we can’t imagine topping it. That being said, every single picture featuring the couple, and their puppy is adorable.

We are big fans of the couple, and considering George Clooney is a known animal rescuer with plenty of pups in his past who have even traveled the world with him, it is unsurprising that his gift for his wife would be a puppy. And Nelson joins a family that already includes another pup, so he will make a great addition to the pack.

We really hope that we get to see more pictures of the latest addition to the Clooney family, and especially pictures of Nelson meeting the rest of the family. We likely won’t see those since both George and Amal Clooney don’t seem to have a large social media presence, but we can definitely hope for it.

As always, we love seeing celebs with their pets, especially those adorable puppy posts. And this is no exception. We love the candid pictures of the couple with Nelson and would not be mad if more pictures came out in the future.
