Dog costumes are all the rage during this time of year, but no other dog really rocks a Halloween costume quite like a dachshund. Their length, their little faces, and their big attitudes just give a whole different vibe than other dogs. Not better. Just different.

And if you have successfully gotten your dachshund in a costume...you are the real winner. With that in mind, let's take a look at three of the cutest/best costumes for dachshunds.

1. Hot dog

Is this a classic? Yes. Has it been done over and over again? Also, yes, but that doesn't make it any less cute. If you have that long body, work with that and go with a hot dog or perhaps a taco costume. You can find these literally anywhere and as long as they don't have a part that goes around your dog's face, they should keep it on...most of the day. Treats may be needed for distraction.

2. Mail person

I don't know why this works, but it does. The Fashion Nova website has an insanely cute dachshund in this costume, and it's perfect. You can probably find other versions of this costume, but this one also comes with a little package too. Normally, I am not a fan of the dog costumes that make them look like they have human arms and legs, but the little postal hat sells it. This might be just a "let's take pictures" costume. I don't know many dachshunds who would not start biting at it eventually.

3. Devil

Why not play to a dachshund's other strength of being an absolute menace?! Are dachshunds the sweetest dogs to ever exist (I may be biased)? Of course, but let's be real. They have attitude for days and have no problem letting it out.

Putting some devil horns on them and a red outfit just let's them show off that side of themselves. And if they are kissing you to death while wearing the costume, even better! Just make sure you feed them a few extra treats and they should keep the costume on all day long.
