Ruh roh, it's almost Christmas! The dog days of December are here and the countdown to Christmas is here. One character most of us don't associate with Christmas is Scooby-Doo.
For the most part, Scooby-Doo doesn't really celebrate holidays. While there are some holiday specials, there isn't anything particularly holiday-specific about Scooby. I mean he's a dog who solves mysteries with his friends.
At the end of the day, the show is for fun but there are some Christmas specials and episodes if you're looking for even more Scooby. Starting with Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holidays, this one was streaming on Max last year but has since been removed.
Released in 2012, the special follows the gang as they have to defeat a snow monster to ensure Christmas is saved. While it's called a special, it's more of a glorified episode. Unfortunately, it's unable to watch in the United States so if you're looking to stream it, it's unlikely.
These Scooby-Doo Christmas specials are all streaming.
Moving onto some Christmas specials available to stream, there is a Christmas episode of What's New Scooby-Doo? This one is currently streaming on Max and aired as season 1, episode 14. As you might imagine, the episode is called "A Scooby-Doo Christmas." It follows the gang as they're dealing with a headless snowman and trying to get some Christmas spirit. Honestly, this is one I'm sure most Scooby fans know but it was worth mentioning.
Another Scooby-Doo Christmas special streaming on Max is "Scary Christmas" which was aired as part of season 1 of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! No matter your feelings about the show and its animation style, there is no denying how fun this one is. Before this episode aired, there was also a winter-themed one called "Be Cold, Scooby-Doo!" which should hopefully get you into a winter mood.
Speaking of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, there is one more Christmas-themed episode to share which is "Scroogey Doo," which aired as part of season 2. How is it that Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! has so many great holiday episodes yet doesn't get the love it deserves? Maybe it's just me, but justice for Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Either way, the episode is the show's take on A Christmas Carol with a twist only the Scooby gang could pull off.
Honestly, there are plenty of great Scooby-Doo Christmas episodes out there but these are just some of the ones streaming on Max. We also can't forget the Scooby project that almost was which was SCOOB! Holiday Haunt was set to be released in 2022 but was shelved by Warner Brothers. There is truly nothing sadder than seeing a canceled Scooby-Doo project.
