Do you know what your dog's breath smells like? Are you paying attention to their dental health, as much as the rest of their overall health? Greenies and Fortune Feimster are teaming up to "Double Dog Dare" you to smell your dog's breath this summer.

According to the press email we received about this partnership, "80% of dogs showing signs of oral care disease by the age of 3, and only 27% of dog-owning homes purchasing Oral Care treats, Double Dog Dare You is a challenge to show pet parents how to take charge of their dog’s dental health and remind them to utilize GREENIES treats to help as they help support dog’s dental health."

Knowing that our dogs are vulnerable to dental health issues, it is more important than ever to make sure that you are paying attention to all aspects of their well-being. And that includes having products to keep your dog's teeth happy and healthy.

As part of the partnership with GREENIES, we had the chance to chat with Fortune Feimster and ask her about her own dog, as well as what made her want to work with GREENIES on this Double Dog Dare You challenge.

Dog O'Day: So I have to ask, what made you want to work with GREENIES?

Fortune Feimster: "You know, it's such a perfect partnership, because I am a dog mom to my dog, Biggie. He's a nine pound Pomeranian who I'm completely obsessed with. He rules my life. I live to make him happy, and all I want is for him to live as long as possible. So when this partnership came up, you know, their whole campaign is a double dog dare you campaign where we are challenging people to smell their dog's breath, because bad breath can be an indicator of dental issues. And you know what I didn't realize is that by the time dogs are three years old, 80% of them do have some sort of dental issue, and I didn't know that their entire health can be affected by those issues. So you know, GREENIES is doing something about that, not only through their treat, but also you can go to greenies.com and do a dental check in with your dog and get more information. And I just love that, and what they stand for and what they're doing."

Dog O'Day: Do you find that Biggie enjoys his GREENIES?

Fortune Feimster: "I mean, he's tiny, so the little ones are more for him, but they come in all different sizes, from from the little dogs to the big dogs. We were in the park filming things for GREENIES, and I got to meet a bunch of people's dogs, and they all went nuts for the GREENIES. And it was fun giving them the different sizes."

Dog O'Day: What is it about being Biggie's pet parent that you enjoy the most?

Fortune Feimster: "I hadn't had a dog since I was a kid. I thought that I would never be a dog owner in my adult life, just because of my schedule and being so crazy, but we got Biggie and I immediately fell in love with him. We found him at a rescue and, you know, you don't realize just how big a part of your day they are. I wake up to him, see him all day, go to bed together. He's seeing you, any pet is seeing you in your happiest times, you're lowest of times. They're never not excited when you come home. And that kind of unconditional love is so good for your soul. And so whatever I can do to take care of him, to make him healthy, to make sure his breath is good, his teeth are good, I will do anything for him, because he is the love of my life."

Dog O'Day: So if you were going to be a different dog breed, what breed do you think you would be?

Fortune Feimster: "I mean, don't you think I kind of have Golden Retriever vibes? We talked to a beautiful Golden Retriever. By we talked, I mean, I put a microphone up to this Golden Retriever's mouth and asked some questions. I didn't get a lot of responses in return, until he started eating his GREENIE. And then he was very verbal. But yeah, I just have, I think, in demeanor and my hair, I have a Golden Retriever situation going on."
