We are basically halfway through this season of Will Trent and every episode we are on Betty watch. We don’t always get to see Betty in our episodes, but every time we do, it is a moment. However, even when we don’t get a Betty scene, there’s always something that reminds us about this iconic pup.
This episode of Will Trent, “Mariachi Shelly's Frankenstein," went hard. Not only did we have Will, Faith, Angie, and more on the case to figure out if the right person was going down for murder, but we had a storm that knocked out power, a murderer loose in the building, and life-saving surgery in the morgue. So it might come as no surprise to realize that we never saw Betty in this episode at all.
This entire episode took place in the office, however, we did get a mention of Betty. At one point, while Will and Angie are trapped on an elevator together, Will is trying to eliminate some of the awkwardness between them.

In order to break the awkward silence, Will mentioned that he has found an app that allows him and Betty to swap faces. Unfortunately, we never got to see what those images look like, but we would have loved that. It likely would have been ridiculous and adorable.
As we have mentioned in the past, not every episode needs a Betty scene. In fact, we only want her to show up when it makes sense. We don’t want them to just shove her in an episode to have her in that episode. In a lot of ways, we either want it to make sense to the overall storyline or to give us another look at who Will is outside of the office.
Not having Betty in this episode of Will Trent made perfect sense. And, it also gave us the idea that now when we goes home after a long night at work, he has something to go home to. Having that moment where he revealed that he has an app that allows him to face swap with Betty, was that little glimpse at just how much Betty means to him. So we know that she’s waiting at home for him.
