As pet owners, we all know that that even the best behaved dog is going to end up chewing on something we don't want them to. Whether this is early on in life when we are still training them and teaching them what not to eat or later in life when they are trying to tell us something (like they are bored or upset). No matter when it happens or even why, pet owners know that at some point in time our dogs are going to eat something they shouldn't.
And thanks to Darwin's Natural Pet Products who worked with Talker, we have a better idea of exactly what dogs are out here snacking on. In doing some research on dog behaviors, they spoke to pet owners about some of the more wild things that our dogs have eaten.
While some of the answers were ones we can relate to, including papers (the dog ate my homework for real when I was in high school) and heels, there were others that were actually a bit more surprising. So what were some of the more shocking answers that pet owners had about the weird things their dogs have eaten?
Pet owners reveal five of the weirdest things that their dogs have eaten
Some of the weird things might not seem that weird, but these were definitely at the top of our list for bringing the unusual.
- A box of tampons (My first question is how did they get their teeth on this. And of course, we have to know if this was a full box or not.)
- A meat thermometer (This one is not all that odd if it had meat or meat juices still on it, I guess.)
- Dentures (This had to hurt, or at least it hurt the wallet.)
- A wool jacket (Apparently the pup skipped out on the buttons, which just adds to the weirdness of this snack.)
- Glue Sticks (I don't understand this one, but I hope the pup was okay.)
What do you think of this list of weird things that pet owners have reported their dogs have eaten? Has your dog eaten weird items? What's the weirdest thing your dog has eaten or tried to eat?
