When it comes to Pedigree, what comes to mind first? Is it their pet food products? Or maybe it is something else entirely. Whatever it may be, this year we are thinking about their commitment to helping combat pet homelessness.
In an effort to help get shelter animals into new homes, Pedigree is doing their first ever “Shelter Sunday” event, which is of course timed to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Since the Sunday seems to be forgotten in this weekend of shopping and savings, it makes sense that Pedigree would want to change that in an effort to help get more pets into loving homes.
According to the press email and release that we received about this event,
"On Sunday, November 26th, the PEDIGREE® brand, proudly part of the Mars family of brands, is making a big commitment to help combat pet homelessness throughout the country by reimbursing dog adoption fees nationwide for the day.* In honor of PEDIGREE Foundation and its 15th birthday of giving grants to help dogs find loving homes, when you adopt a dog from a local shelter or rescue organization on ‘PEDIGREE Shelter Sunday’ the PEDIGREE brand will reimburse you for your adoption fee.*"
Pedigree hosts Shelter Sunday in an effort to promote pet adoptions this holiday season
We already know that Pedigree has long been committed to animals and that includes shelter animals. From their quality pet products and their efforts to raise awareness for shelter animals, we all know that this is a brand that is committed to giving all animals their best lives.
So how does one take part in this Shelter Sunday event? According to the company, “Pet parents who adopt a dog on Sunday, November 26, 2023 can submit their adoption receipt from November 28 to December 22, 2023, and the PEDIGREE brand will reimburse your adoption fee.*” And in order to learn more about the rules for how to claim your adoption fee, check out the Pedigree Shelter Sunday page.
We truly hope that this event is able to find so many pets new homes. And hopefully, these new homes are their forever homes, as it is very common for people to adopt a pet during the holidays and then change their minds after the magic of the season is over.
It is clear that Pedigree is all about helping all animals live their best lives and we hope that Shelter Sunday is able to make a major impact in some shelter animals’ lives.
