Pedigree awards huge grant to animals and animal shelters for 15th year
There are so many great pet brands out there and one of the biggest is Pedigree. Now, the brand is putting their money where its mouth is.
If you didn’t know, the Pedigree Brand is so much more than just one product. The company makes dog food and dog treats for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. That’s not the only thing featured on the website, though.
In addition to the brand’s food, they also have other resources for dogs and are keeping a long-time tradition going. The Pedigree Foundation is awarding over $600,000 in grants to help animals and animal shelters all over North America.
This is the 15th year in a row that the brand has made this contribution and the 2nd year that Canada was a part of the brand’s grant program.
Pedigree awards over $600,000 in grants to help animals and shelters.
The grants were given to over 30 shelters and rescue organizations in the US along with 10 in Canada. Pedigree also donated $25,000 CAD towards disaster relief due to the Canadian Wildfires this year. In addition to that, the grants are broken down into different categories as some focus on the “Dogs Rule Grant” which is about creating the best practices for shelters including the WayStation Transport Program for Washington D.C.
In D.C., this practice will help animals to be moved around to other locations where the adoption rates are higher so shelters don’t get overcrowded. In Philadelphia, the grant will allow for a full-time behaviorist position. Then there are program development grams which are about helping with capacity and helping with adoption.
Pet parents can also browse Pedigree’s online shop featuring items for themselves, their pets, and even their kids. You can see the entire list on the brand’s website where you can find the list of grants, how they’re being used, and the shelters that were given the grants. There are so many adoptable animals out there so if you’re looking to adopt, then make sure you head to your local shelter.
