Chewy is one of the biggest pet companies in the world. The website is a treasure trove of items, articles, and loads of important information.
In particular, the brand is branching out with the launch of its new tool called Symptom Checker which is part of PetMD. Essentially, it’s a way to help Chewy’s vet team help you.
As shared by the brand, this is a way for pet parents to get some advice from a vet to help them and their pet out along with helping pet parents to be more informed the next time something happens. Frankly, l think that’s such a great idea and is just incredibly useful.
This new Symptom Checker is a great way to help give pet parents some reassurance and hopefully, alleviate any concerns. As the brand mentioned, a lot of people turn to the internet first before doing anything so this was an easy winner for pet parents.
Chewy introduces its new Symptom Checker as part of its PetMD program.
Since Chewy talked so highly about this, I wanted to give it a try and see how it works so let me give you a walkaround. You head to the website and click on either “Cat” or “Dog.” From there, you can enter your pet’s name before moving on to some of the basic info you’d give your vet.
From there, you share your pet’s main symptom and once you click on it, it’ll ask for you to tell more. It’ll ask a few more questions and then end with a suggestion about taking your pet to the vet. In addition, there are things you can expect, questions to ask, and essentially a guide to give peace of mind.
Frankly, I’m really impressed with this new launch from Chewy. There is so much misinformation out there that it can feel overwhelming and confusing. Thankfully, all you need to do is have a little bit of info to get some ideas of what to do next. With pets, it can be so hard to try to read them but seeing it in black-and-white is so much easier.
While this new tool might not give you all the answers, it’s a great one to pick up and try especially if you’re just feeling anxious or have no idea what to do. Plus as long as the visit goes well, you can head back to Chewy and order something special for your favorite best friend.
