Viral TikTok video shows what really happened to a missing pumpkin and yes, the dog is involved
TikTok is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to amazing animal videos and moments. And one video has gone viral over a missing pumpkin.
In a viral TikTok video shared by an account with the username Carolineinhickory on September 21, we get to learn the truth of a missing pumpkin. It seems that the woman who posted the video believed that a pumpkin had been stolen off of her porch. However, thanks to CCTV footage, we know the truth!
Based on the video posted to TikTok, we get to see as a Westie named Ruby is seen on video barking in the front yard. But Ruby is on a leash of some sort and while she is barking, her leash seems to get the pumpkin moving.
Once that pumpkin gets going, it doesn’t just land in the yard and stop. Instead, as the pup looks on, the pumpkin ends up rolling into the street.

As the pumpkin rolls off, we can see Ruby watching the runaway gourd before she starts barking at it herself. Thanks to the comments, we have some hilarious ideas of what exactly the pup might have been barking at the pumpkin. My personal favorite is the comment from username No One that reads, “Bruh, where you goin? We’re supposed to stay on the porch!”
Honestly, we love this entire post. From the video itself to what the owner originally thought happened, to the comments. Every bit of this is pet owner gold because it is not surprising at all. How many times have our pets got into some mischief and you just have no idea what really happened? It definitely feels like doggy hijinks happen frequently.
