It was the very first location of its sort to open in Minnesota and sadly after a few years, it is closing its doors. The cat café known as Café Meow opened in 2018.

The place facilitated the adoption of many kittens, finding them each a happy forever home.

The operation was a simple one: Serve coffee and bring in cats and kittens for people to adopt as they sip their favorite beverage.

The Café Meow partnered with a few shelters in the area and over the years since its opening, they helped place quite a few cats, as per a report at cbsnews.com.

But is this the end for Café Meow?

Maura McCarty, an employee there, says the closing is of course partially at least, a tough pill to swallow because of the closure, but as per the report, they’ve helped place over 700 cats in homes and loving ones at that. “It just makes me so happy as a cat lover,” she stated.

She went on to say: “I helped build this place, decorate, met all the cats that came through here, so it is bittersweet…”

But why close if the operation was indeed quite successful?

Well, the location that just closed couldn’t accommodate a large amount of cats and/or customers, so a bigger location is in order, and apparently, parking was an issue as well.

“We do fill up a lot on the weekends and people come and they get disappointed that they can’t go in… They’re taking away parking on Hennepin, which will be very difficult for the customers,” stated McCarty.

But what does this mean? Is it not the end for such a great and giving business? Is there hope at last for Café Meow?

Good news for those in the area, dear readers, because Café Meow is moving to a bigger location and one with parking, as per the aforementioned report…in Roseville. Check HERE for info on when the grand opening is to take place if in the area or curious enough to visit.

So happy endings do exist, dear readers, and not all news is bad news.
