Whether you live in San Diego or you’re just planning a visit, you might be wondering whether or not this is a pet friendly city.

When it comes to planning your next vacation, you might be considering bringing your dog with you. And it’s important to know which cities are the best for vacation planning with your pup. For us, we wanted to know whether or not San Diego was a great destination for both traveling, pet parents, as well as pet parents, looking for a permanent relocation.

So what exactly did we find out?

Is San Diego a dog friendly city?

According to the Go Pet Friendly website, “From beaches to dog parks to restaurants, shopping and more – San Diego is a terrific pet friendly city.” In fact, they are so convinced that the city is pet friendly, that they recommend picking a very select few things to do with your dog when you visit.

Considering how many places allow you to bring your dog, we have to agree. We have seen dogs on outside patios at restaurants and cafés, at the beach, and even just walking around the neighborhood. One of our favorite experiences on our recent trip to San Diego included watching the dogs walking and running around on the pier with their owners. One dog even caught a fish.

There are even dog friendly beaches that allow your pups to run around off leash. It is a great opportunity for them to socialize and get rid of some of the excess energy they may have.

Want to find dog parks in San Diego? The city has a dedicated page for pet parents letting them know where they can bring their dogs for both on leash and off leash fun. It seems pretty telling that the city of San Diego actually has a page for pet parents to find dog parks that they can visit. If that doesn’t scream dog friendly city, I don’t know what does.

And remember how I mentioned that there are plenty of dog, friendly patios? It turns out there are more than 80 dog friendly restaurants and bars in the city. This makes it so easy to enjoy a little bit of downtime and a meal with your dog at your side.

If you are looking for a great destination to visit with your dog in Tauh, we highly recommend San Diego. And, of course, if you are looking to move to a very pet friendly city, this is the place to be.
