Cosplaying isn’t easy as it takes a lot of time and effort. However, the top cosplay spot might surprise you as it’s actually Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo.

How does this relate to my fellow pet parents, though? Simple enough, you can be Velma while your dog can be your own Scooby-Doo. What makes it so interesting to me is the research that came up with this conclusion.

The research was shared by Hearts Land, an online game, and the team researched to find out which cosplays were the most mentioned on Instagram by cosplayers. And Velma was the top character between both film and TV characters.

For those who have dogs, this cosplay is an especially easy one as it doesn’t take much to get the outfit together and to turn your dog into your partner-in-crime aka Scooby-Doo.

Velma takes the top spot for film and TV cosplay which is great for dog parents.

The research was shared with us and it honestly makes a lot of sense: “Velma from Scooby Doo takes the top spot as the most cosplayed TV or film character, with 60,993 combined hashtags on Instagram. Velma’s iconic look consisting of an orange sweater, red skirt, and glasses is an easy costume for cosplayers to replicate.” I feel like this has been a classic costume for those of us who wear glasses.

While part of this is probably an act of deviancy to the animated series, it’s also probably because this is a good cosplay to include your pup in. If you have the part of Velma nailed down, then all you’ll have to worry about for your pup is turning them into Scooby-Doo. Essentially all you’ll need for your dog is the Scooby collar which is an another relatively easy one for those who enjoy cosplaying or need something quick and simple.

I mean I won’t sit there and say you shouldn’t grab a few Scooby Snacks, too. I’m sure your pup will appreciate them. Velma is easily the best choice between the top ten for those who are looking to include their pups. I’m not sure that Chucky, Michael Myers or Kim Possible would work out as well for your pup.
