Woman gets a shock when a dog toy turns out to be Tasmanian devil

TAKONE, TASMANIA - AUGUST 28: Researchers release a Tasmanian devil after a health check during a trapping expedition on August 28, 2015 in Takone, Australia. The devices are part of virtual fence technology which has been installed along Tasmanian roads to help protect threatened devils and other wildlife from becoming roadkill, however the company who created them has reported a number being stolen or vandalised in recent weeks. When you go to pick up one of your dog’s toys, you expect to feel something plush or plastic. You do not expect it to move before you get to it. Well, that’s what recently happened to a woman in Australia and the toy turned out to be a Tasmanian devil.

According to The Guardian, on Dec 28, 2022, Kristen Lynch was just chilling at her house in Hobart, Australia which is located in the Australian state of Tasmania. She decided to grab her dog’s Tasmanian devil toy. A pretty normal thing for any dog owner. You either want to put it away or play with your dog.

Except when Lynch went to pick it up… it moved. According to her, it ran underneath her couch. And she responded by screaming. Relatable! This woke up her whole family and then her husband was able to get the devil outside. Thank goodness! Her children did what I would have done and sat on top of the kitchen table.

Before the devil left the house, the family got a video of the animal and as someone who has never seen one before, I hope to never see one in real life. They are way bigger than I expected. I would probably never feel safe in that house again. I would’ve moved!

The Tasmanian devil also went into the dining room, made its way into the cupboards, and even went through their pet supplies.

The family thinks the animal got into their house when their dog came in after a bathroom break. My dog probably would have tried to make friends with it.

Luckily, no one got hurt by the devil and they were able to get it outside without the animal or the family coming to harm.
