If there is one thing we can count on when it comes to Thanksgiving, it is the National Dog Show. And this year, it was a French Bulldog who came out on top.

As People Magazine reported, nearly 20 million people tuned in after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in order to watch as some of our favorite breeds of dogs competed for Best in Show. This year, it was all about Winston the French Bulldog!

The adorable pup, who brought the showmanship in furry form, walked away with the top prize after beating out hundreds of other dogs from a wide range of breeds.

Winston the French Bulldog won Best in Show at the National Dog Show presented by Purina for 2022

And if Winston seems familiar to you, that’s because this is not his first brush with fame. In fact, this is one amazing pup. The National Dog Show Best in Show title is his 78th time earning the title of Best in Show at an event like this. And that’s just the beginning.

Morgan Fox, an NFL player for the Los Angeles Chargers, is actually a partial owner in the group that cares for Winston. And Fox actually took care of the French Bulldog during his puppy years.

After his win at the National Dog Show Winston’s handler, Perry Payson, shared,

"I get excited every time, and so does Winston. The National Dog Show in Philadelphia, with the television exposure on Thanksgiving Day, is obviously special. We’ve had a lot of support, and that’s what happens with a dog of this quality."

We are also pretty excited for Winston and if you missed out on watching the adorable French Bulldog walking away with the Best in Show title, there will be an encore presentation of the National Dog Show on November 26. Once again, the show will air on NBC, with the replay airing at 8 p.m. ET.

With this win by Winston, we expect to see a surge in popularity for this particular breed of dog. And hopefully more people will learn about the French Bulldog.
