Roswell New Mexico has come to an end. And by the end of the fourth season, there was one question we still had: What happened to Lucky?

For anyone who has forgotten, Lucky is the dog that Jones accidentally shot in the desert. After shooting the Pitbull, Jones apologizes to the dog and heals him. This actually leads him to adopting the abandoned pup.

Over the course of the third season, we see Jones and Lucky together quite often and it is actually the presence of the Pitbull that often alerts people to who they are dealing with – Max or Jones.

It is thanks to Jones actually chatting with Lucky that we also learn that one of his gifts is actually animal communication, because it is clear that he is responding to the thoughts of the dog at different times. (The Jones x Roswell wiki page even includes animal communication in the list of gifts that Jones has.)

What happened to Lucky after Jones was defeated on Roswell?

But the problem is, that when our Roswell crew defeated Jones, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of the dog. And even once the crew moves on (kind of), Lucky is never really seen or mentioned again. In fact, this is not the first time we have asked the question…

So what happened to Lucky? Did he get a new home? Was he once again abandoned to the desert? And why couldn’t one of our Roswell faves adopt the pup themselves?

We can’t help but hope that Lucky lived up to his name and was able to find a new home. But as dog lovers, we also wanted confirmation of what happened to him. He may have been aligned to a villain of the series, but that doesn’t mean anything. It just means that his owner wasn’t exactly a good guy (even if he was a good dog dad in theory).

With Roswell ending (too soon if you ask us), we will never know what happened to Lucky and that is definitely one of those burning questions we wish would have been answered.

Only Murders in the Building has built a dedicated fandom and we are here for the dog. dark. Next
