Corgi is being celebrated as Queen Elizabeth’s favorite dog during Platinum Jubilee
This year (2022) is the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II taking the throne. And that means a Platinum Jubilee to celebrate her long reign.
To celebrate the Queen and her commitment to her people, the Platinum Jubilee is essentially a four day holiday featuring parades, parties, and pageants. But it’s not just the Queen herself who is getting the spotlight at the Jubilee, it is also the things she loves.
What does this mean? It means that her love off animals is on display as well, with both horses and her favorite dog, the Corgi, being celebrated as well.
Across the U.K., there are many signs of the Platinum Jubilee, and in many cases a Corgi is included in the artwork promoting the celebration. And that is just one way that this beloved breed is being honored. There have also been pop up events and canine-friendly offerings as well, all a perfect way to honor Queen Elizabeth‘s favorite companion.
The Corgi is also being honored as part of the Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II
According to WRBL,
"Ahead of the official Platinum Jubilee events, the regal pedigree was pampered at the Corgi Cafe in London, a pop-up event over the weekend. Corgis enjoyed dog biscuits and “pupuccinos,” a canine friendly version of the cappuccino. Corgi lover Francesca Shortall says, “I love the Jubilee, I love the Queen, and I love that the Queen’s got corgis.”"
As one of the most well-known dog lovers, and in particular Corgi lovers, in the world, we love the fact that the Platinum Jubilee is taking the time to celebrate these beloved pups too. And we are loving the way that they are doing it. Because yes, we are here for both the pop ups and the many pieces of art featuring these beloved dogs too.
But what do you think? Are you surprised that they are including the Queen’s love of the Corgi in the Platinum Jubilee celebration? We want to know!
