Do you live in Connecticut or one of the surrounding states? Are you looking for a destination that is dog-friendly? We have the brewery for you.

When it comes to finding destinations for those of us traveling with dogs, there are not always a lot of options. But in the city of New Britain near Connecticut’s capital, we have found the perfect place to visit for people who love a good brew.

The Alvarium Beer Company is a microbrewery that welcomes dogs and their humans. And that includes letting them join their people inside the brewery!

But what we love the most about Alvarium is the fact that they not only welcome dogs, they even have an entire Instagram account dedicated to the Dogs of Alvarium Beer Co.

This Connecticut brewery is a dog-friendly destination in the state

According to the fun folks over at Bring Fido,

"This spacious spot was the talk of the town in 2017 when it became the first brewery to open in the city in over 90 years. Your best friend is welcome to keep you company inside and might even charm his way into being featured on the brewery’s dedicated doggy Instagram page."

Over on the regular Alvarium Instagram account, they even have a pinned Stories called “DOG RULES.” And what are those rules for dogs?

  • No Barking (There’s a one strike rule for this and then you and your pup need move to the patio area.)
  • Be well-behaved
  • Stay on your leash
  • Outside bathroom breaks only

The rules end with “thank you for your obedience.” So basically, if your pup is able to handle a brewery environment, they can enjoy being inside with you. Otherwise, there is a patio that is also a welcoming option for pups who may not be able to keep the boofs in.

Are you a fan of breweries? Will you be checking out Alvarium in Connecticut? We want to know.
