March 2022: Pet holidays to celebrate this month
Every day it seems like we are celebrating a new holiday (made up or otherwise). And while we may sometimes joke about all of these “holidays,” in March 2022, we are all about the pet related days.
Turning to Pet Sitter International‘s round up of all the holidays and observations related to pets throughout the year, we learned exactly what we can celebrate in March when it comes to our pets. And sure, we may focus most of our attention on dogs, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate other animals too.
Although we are sticking to primarily the holidays that have to do with dogs and cats, there are plenty of other national days we can get behind as well. So which observations and holidays are we going to be paying attention to in March 2022?
Pet holidays we are paying attention to this March
Up first, we have to mention that March is apparently Poison Prevention Awareness Month, with an entire week during the month dedicated to being more aware of what can poison our pets. (If you were wondering, Poison Prevention Week runs from March 20 until the 26th.)
Now for the actual pet holidays we are here for:
- 3rd: If Pets Had Thumbs Day (It may be ridiculous, but it is also a fun one.)
- 6th – 12th: Professional Pet Sitters Week (Just like there is a week for Poison Prevention in March, there is also a week dedicated to the people who watch our pets.)
- 13th: K9 Veterans Day
- 23rd: National Puppy Day
- 23rd: Cuddly Kitten Day
- 28th: Respect Your Cat Day (We bet the cats made this one up themselves.)
- 30th: Take A Walk in the Park Day (If the cats made up the last one, this one was totally a dog creation.)
Did you know about all of these pet related holidays? Have you ever celebrated or done anything special for these pet holidays and observations? Which of these days will you take part in with your pet?
