On December 31, 2021, news broke that Hollywood legend Betty White had passed away at the age of 99. Considering the impact that White has had on so many people, it only makes sense that one might be looking for ways to pay tribute to the actress and honor her legacy.

And what better way is there to honor her legacy than to look back at some of her classic work? While you might think we would be going for The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show or even Hot in Cleveland, we are going back to The Pet Set.

As a known animal lover and activist, we think it is only fitting that we pay tribute to Betty White‘s legacy by watching the only season that the actress got of her series The Pet Set. So what exactly is this series and how can we watch it?

Our tribute to Betty White is to watch The Pet Set

One might say that The Pet Set is a variety show starring White herself, but the real stars of the show are the animal guests that she got to meet. And in some cases, these animals may even have belonged to other celebrities that she was friends with.

According to the AP News from February 2021, in one episode of the series White told viewers, “All I can say is, Charlie Brown is right: Happiness is a warm puppy.” And that is definitely a truth that we believe too. So it just makes sense that for us, the best way to pay tribute to this legendary actress is to go back and watch the single season of The Pet Set that aired in 1971.

But how can we watch this unique series? That’s where Amazon Prime and IMDbTV come to play. With IMDbTV the series is free to watch or we can also purchase the entire series on Prime. It has all been remastered and restored, brought back to life 50 years after it began (and ended).

Whether it was wild animals like elephants and tigers or more pet friendly animals like dogs (and there are a lot of those), The Pet Set is truly a joy for animal lovers of all types. And it is a fitting way to say goodbye to our friend.
