In a 15 second video shared to President Joe Biden’s Twitter account on December 20, we were all introduced to the latest member of the family – Commander Biden.
Commander is a German Shepherd puppy, who will be joining the First family, which already includes Major Biden. And this news is pretty exciting, not only for dog lovers, but also for fans of The Oval Pawffice and the First Dogs.
While we are still saddened by the fact that we lost Champ earlier this year, this feels like the ultimate Christmas present for the Bidens, and most importantly for Major. Earlier this month, Major shared his sadness over his first winter without his older brother, but now he has a baby brother to take care of and teach, the way Champ taught him.
But of course, we are here for the video introduction of Commander. And while it may have been just 15 seconds, it gave us so much.
President Biden introduces Twitter to Commander, the newest First Dog
The video shows the President walking up to Commander and asking him how he is doing. Then we get to see him throwing a ball for the pup. And of course, we also got to see the President and First Lady walking their new addition to the family into The White House.
Perhaps the only thing missing from this introduction video is a meeting of Major and Commander. And honestly, we are hoping that we get to see that in the future.
We are really hoping that Major and Commander get along well and find the same type of sibling bond that Champ and Major had together. And of course, we are really looking forward to all the puppy pictures we can get our hands on!
