Is your pup the 2021 Orvis Cover Dog?

It may be, if they win the 2021 Orvis Cover Dog photo contest.

The grand prize for this contest is getting your dog’s photo in an Orvis catalog, a $500 Orvis gift card, and $900 worth of Purina Pro Plan dog food.

The 2021 Orvis Cover Dog contest is a fundraising effort for the Morris Animal Foundation, who, as their website states, “advance animal health by funding only research that meets the highest scientific standards.” Orvis has been partnered with them since 2009, particularly in funding their canine cancer research program.

The 2021 Orvis Cover Dog contest is now accepting entries.

You can enter your pet on the Orvis website until March 31, 2022 (the contest period began November 1), and voting can be done via a $1 donation to the Morris Animal Foundation. Photos may contain more than one dog if you wish, and humans (including children) may also appear in the picture as well, though humans would likely need to sign a release form if their photos win.

This contest is only open to legal residents of the United States or the United Kingdom who are 18 years or older (sorry Canadian friends).

Since Orvis is a outdoor goods/hunting-related sporting goods retailer, somewhere between Sears, LL Bean and Bass Pro Shops, if your photo includes a hunting dog enjoying the day with you in the wild out in the field or on the lake, it might have a better chance at winning.

Looking through the entrants so far, some are traditional portrait poses indoors or by beautiful mountainous scenery, while others prefer action shots during games of fetch or running the agility course.

While many dogs are part of the Sporting Group, there are several Yorkies, French Bulldogs and pit bulls spotted as well.

Many of the top show dogs and agility dogs are fueled by Purina Pro Plan, including two-time National Dog Show Best in Show champ Claire the Scottish Deerhound.

Good luck to all entrants!
