Hoomans and doggos, everyone loves to indulge in a tasty Thanksgiving treat (or more)! Unfortunately, not all Thanksgiving foods are safe for dogs. Below, we share a recipe that dogs won’t be able to get enough of this Thanksgiving.

While we love sharing leftovers with our pups at home (sometimes under the table), it’s not always safe to do so. On Thanksgiving, even if there is enough to go around, let’s keep the safety of our pups in mind.

Earlier this month, Dog o’ Day shared which Halloween candy and treats are safe to give dogs. The answers may seem obvious (no chocolate, yes to Starburst), but it’s always best to double-check! Now we’re bringing you not only a great Thanksgiving recommendation. but a very tasty one.

Pet Central shared a recipe for Turkey-Cranberry Meatballs and they are guaranteed to have your pup thank you with 100 kisses.

This is the perfect Thanksgiving treat for your dog

The ingredients are simple and likely stuff you have in your pantry as you get ready for Thanksgiving and are experimenting with recipes.

  • 1 lb. ground turkey (85% lean)
  • 1/4 cup of non-sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg

According to the source, the above ingredients make 12 meatballs, so adjust accordingly to what you want to get. They also share to ease readers that the recipe was reviewed by a veterinarian and has been approved as a treat or snack. They advise that your pup doesn’t have too many at once and to avoid if your pet has any health issues.

Visit Pet Central HERE for the recipe.

Need more safe eats for your pups? According to Healthy Paws, sweet potatoes, thin slices of turkey, carrots, pumpkin, and rolls of bread (in moderation), are all safe for your dog to consume.

How will you be celebrating Thanksgiving? Do you plan on preparing a special Thanksgiving treat for your pup? This year, we are thankful for all the pups that have kept us company during quarantine.
