Halloween is here and with it comes the last minute rush to get it all together for the final spooky night of the season. But what happens if you forgot to snag the perfect treat for your pup (and maybe some of their furry friends)?

Have no fear because Chewy is here! That’s right, Chewy has shared the perfect, last minute treat to satisfy your pup this Halloween.

And what better way to treat your pup than with a ghost? Okay, maybe that’s the wrong way to look at it. Maybe the right way is that this is the perfect ghostly treat? Whatever it is, these ghosts are dog-friendly treats that need strawberries to make the magic happen.

So what are these ghostly treats from Chewy?

Make Strawberry Ghosts as the perfect Halloween treat for pups

Now that we know what the spooky dog treat is called, how exactly do we make them?

What we need:

  • 6 strawberries that have been washed
  • 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of creamy, all-natural peanut butter (make sure there is no xylitol)
  • Carob chips

What to do:

Slice the stems off of your strawberries to give them a flat top. Next, you need to core out the strawberry (these things are getting stuffed). Gently stuff the peanut butter into the strawberries (you may have leftover peanut butter and that’s okay). Dip the strawberries in the yogurt with the tip down. From there, you want to place the dipped berries on a piece of parchment paper with the flat side down.

Once all the strawberries have been stuffed and dipped, place them in the freezer for an hour. Dip the berries in the yogurt again and then place your carob chips as the eyes of your ghosts. Place the double dipped berries back in the freezer for another hour.

It is as simple as that. And now you have ghostly strawberries for your dog’s spooky Halloween.

The fact that these only require four ingredients and are actually relatively easy to put together makes these perfect as a last minute treat this season. And of course, even after Halloween, this is an easy treat to whip up for your pups anytime.
