A snow dog is just adorable – the way they joyfully pounce through the white stuff and roll in it with the happiest expression.

This is why a kind gesture from Utah is so special.

According to People Magazine, one snow dog facing a terminal diagnosis got to enjoy a final playtime in a snowbank thanks to the Salt Lake City Ice Center, which is operated by the Salt Lake County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Maggie, who appears to be a Great Pyrenees, is dying of cancer, and her owner asked if anyone have any shaved ice machines they hadn’t quite winterized yet.

Utah parks department makes snow dog’s dream come true one last time.

Maggie will cross the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, October 4, so her owner, a man named Elijah, likely was thinking his request would be a long shot. But because the internet loves a feel-good dog story, especially in times like these, it all came together in a wonderful gesture.

“Today, our staff shaved some extra ice, loaded it into bins and buckets, and the owner took the snow home, to Maggie’s backyard, where she enjoyed it with her family,” the Salt Lake County Parks Department wrote in their Facebook page.

A large pile of artificial snow was constructed into a nice-sized snowbank by kind human volunteers, which make for a great contrast with the still-bright green grass.

Even more poignant and perfect, a sign reading “Maggie’s Snow” was established, just to solidify the fact that this was a very special snowbank.

By the pictures attached to that Facebook post, it seems that Maggie was a very outdoorsy doggo who loved to go hiking.

Maggie will be remembered fondly by many in her community, and this moment will remain in the memories of her owners for sure, as well as by dog lovers around the world.
