The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Kyle Richards, has taken to Instagram to remind us all that we should “adopt, don’t shop.”

When it comes to many of the housewives on Bravo, their love of dogs is front and center. Sure, there is plenty of drama and backstabbing, but there is also a lot of dog ownership and in the case of many of these housewives, a lot of dog rescuing.

So is it any surprise that known dog owner and lover Kyle Richards took to Instagram on September 2 to remind us all that we should “adopt, don’t shop,” for new fur children. And of course, the reality star gave us this reminder with the help of a dog, although in this case it was not actually one of her dogs, but instead her niece’s German Shepherd.

In the post, Richards can be seen smiling while giving the dog a hug. And in the caption, she lets us know who this adorable pup is, while also asking her followers what their favorite breed of dog is.

According to the caption, “this is my niece @whittlesdavis dog Captain. He is also a rescue & follows me everywhere just like my German Shepherds. I LOVE this breed so much.” She ends her post with “#adoptdontshop.”

We love when celebrities and reality stars share their pups with us on social media. And when we get to see other pets in the family we get just as excited. There is something about getting to see an adorable dog or cat on our screens (whether that is a TV screen, our computers, or our phones) that just makes us smile. So of course we were excited to to see Kyle Richards sharing an adorable picture with a furry friend.
