NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Brandon Brown recently teamed up with sponsor Baby Doge Coin to present a donation to the Best Friends Animal Society at Michigan International Speedway earlier this month.

Baby Doge Coin launched in June 2021 as a cryptocurrency like Dogecoin, that regularly donates to animal rescue organizations, leading to the $100,000 check going to Best Friends.

“Best Friends is a big believer in the positive benefits that technology and innovation can create in our ability to save the lives of homeless pets across the country. Making donations in cryptocurrency is another meaningful way that animal lovers can work toward the goal of making this country no-kill by 2025,” Amy Starnes, Best Friends Animal Society senior director of digital engagement, said in a press release. “We really appreciate Baby Doge’s generosity in joining with us on this path, and their community’s mission to help dogs in need.”

The teal and light orange colors adorned the No. 68 Brandonbilt Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro, of which Brown is the owner of in addition to being the primary driver.

“One of our missions is to help save dogs and we truly believe in that cause. Partnering with Best Friends Animal Society is something we’re very proud of, so helping them enter the crypto space and start accepting Baby Doge to help further their mission was a no brainer for us,” Mike Watson, project manager for Baby Doge, said in a press release. “We see utility in our coin working with foundations to create this new stream of revenue. This allows us to rollout our campaign to get more organizations on board accepting Baby Doge, all while helping save dogs. It’s a true win-win from our standpoint.”

Brown unfortunately got caught up in a crash at Michigan and finished a last-place 40th, but survived until the end of the Daytona race this past weekend. For the 2021 season he has two top fives at Charlotte and Mid-Ohio, with 7 top 10s and an average finish of 19.2 through 23 races.

Earlier this season Best Friends appeared on the NASCAR Cup Series No. 48 of Alex Bowman at Phoenix.

Brandon Brown currently sits 16th in the driver standings with 443 points, while the No. 68 sits 18th in the owner standings out of 47 entries.
