In the lead up to the premiere of Turner & Hooch on Disney+, we are shining a spotlight on the people bringing the series to life. This time it’s Anthony Ruivivar’s time to shine.

Over the years, you have likely seen Ruivivar many times on your screen. And often, it is in the role of a first responder.

Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Carlos in Third Watch, he has also given us characters such as Agent Guillermo Borjes in Traveler, Alejo Salazar in The Whole Truth, Sheriff Miguel Acosta in Scream, Captain Stan Moreno in Frequency, and  Kevin Harris in The Haunting of Hill House! And that is just a small sampling of his roles over the years!

He has voiced some amazing characters too, been in different seasons of American Horror Story, and even been a voice in video games. While Anthony Ruivivar might be considered a character actor, he is one that stands out in a crowd, and leaves an impression on viewers.

But who is Anthony Ruivivar in the new Turner & Hooch series on Disney+?

Of course, the big question is who will Anthony Ruivivar be portraying in the new Disney+ series, Turner & Hooch. And luckily we have the answer.

In the new series, Ruivivar will be playing James Mendez. Mendez is a Chief with the U.S. Marshalls. He is also Scott Turner’s boss. When we first meet him, we apparently realize that he has respect for Turner, but he is also skeptical of his newest partner, Hooch.

But it won’t take much for Mendez to give Turner & Hooch a chance to shine. Obviously, as the boss, it is up to Mendez to make sure the partnership between dog and man works and doesn’t harm the agency. So we will likely see him chiming in when it comes to how Scott and Hooch work as a team.

While James Mendez will likely be more of a background character in terms of his overall role in the story, he will definitely be there and will have an impact on what happens with our dynamic duo. That being said, Ruivivar is listed as a main character, so perhaps he will be less in the background than we think.
