Stigma CBD dog treats are dog-approved, going by our recent taste test by some of the Dog O’Day staff dogs.

Our testers were Captain the Labrador mix and Banjo, a dog of unknown heritage (though perhaps some sighthound), both of whom are senior rescue dogs who have been a longtime part of Wesley’s family.

We tested the Stigma CBD dog treats in the Peanut Butter flavor, which come in a package for $49.99, or $39.99 if they are a subscriber, and the shipping was extremely efficient.

Stigma Hemp is a Minneapolis-based company that offers a wide variety of CBD oils and other products, mostly for human use..

Their dog chews are shaped about the shape and coloration of human Wheat Thins crackers (though with about the depth of a graham cracker), and contain 5 mg (milligrams) of broad spectrum hemp extract.

According to the American Kennel Club‘s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Jerry Klein, CBD products for dogs do not contain a chemical called THC, which has psychoactive properties. Instead they’re made with hemp, and while the exact health benefits are not quite known just yet, they seem to help treat pain, and possibly prevent seizures.

Stigma CBD dog treats are a helpful supplement option.

Banjo was initially hesitant to try a new treat, though Captain eagerly gulped it down. They both seemed far more perky and more playful when outside.

The ingredients include, in order, organic peanut butter, chicken broth, organic coconut oil and coconut flour, whole wheat flour, organic applesauce, agar, honey, citric acid, broad spectrum hemp extract and vitamin E.

A recent Cornell University study conducted with ElleVet Sciences showed that CBD oil significantly reduced canine arthritis, which seems to indicate that it could be a helpful supplement for elderly dogs (and dogs in general).

While the cost might be a no-go for some dog owners, it also ensures that the product is of the highest quality, leading to a better quality of life for our pets.
