There are canine schools aplenty in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament, which begins this weekend.

So while our baseball dogs friends among the of Dog Twitter and Dogstagram might be attending Major League Baseball games via fan cutout or Minor League Baseball games on Bark in the Park Nights, they can also see some college baseball games on TV.

Like the basketball tournament, there are 64 teams who make the field, and like the softball tournament, it’s a double-elimination format that’s used.

All games begin on Friday, June 4, with coverage on the ESPN family of networks.

What canine schools are taking part in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament?

The Huskies of Northeastern (36-10) from the Colonial Athletic Association take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers (31-12) of the Big Ten Conference, who are a vet school, in the Fayetteville Regional at 8 p.m. ET.

(UPDATE – Nebraska does not have a vet med program. We apologize for this error.)

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (40-18) of Conference USA host the Ruston Regional, facing the MAAC’s Rider Broncs (23-16) at 7 p.m.  The Atlantic Coast Conference’s North Carolina State Wolfpack (30-17), who are also a vet school, face the Southeastern Conference’s Alabama Crimson Tide (31-24) in the other first-round matchup at 3 p.m..

The Nevada Wolf Pack (25-18) from the Mountain West Conference play in the Palo Alto Region against the Cal-Irvine Anteaters (40-16) from the Big West Conference at 9 p.m.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (35-17), a vet school from the Big 12 Conference, play in the Tucson Regional, starting against the Big West’s Cal-Santa Barbara Gauchos (39-18) at 4 p.m. ET.

Holland the Pup‘s Florida Gators (38-20), also a vet school from the SEC, host the Gainesville Regional, beginning against the South Florida Bulls (28-27) from the American Athletic Conference at noon ET on the SEC Network.

The Big East Conference’s UConn Huskies (33-18) play the Big Ten’s Michigan Wolverines (27-17) in the South Bend Regional at 7 p.m. ET.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs (40-15) are yet another SEC team and vet school hosting a regional, as the Samford Bulldogs (35-22) from the Southern Conference at 3 p.m. at the Starkville Regional.

The Pac-12 vet school of the Oregon State Beavers (34-22) play in the Fort Worth Regional against the Dallas Baptist Patriots (37-15) at 2 p.m. ET.

The Eugene Regional includes both the SEC vet school LSU Tigers (34-22) and West Coast Conference’s Gonzaga Bulldogs (33-17), who play each other at 10 p.m. ET.

Finally, there is the Knoxville Regional to close out the first round of the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament, which is hosted by the SEC vet school Tennessee Volunteers (45-16), who play the Wright State Raiders (35-11) from the Horizon League at 6 p.m. ET. In the other first-round game there, the ACC’s Duke Blue Devils (32-20), which doesn’t have a vet school but does have the Canine Cognition Center where important dog science stuff happens, play the Liberty Flames (39-14) of the Atlantic Sun Conference at noon ET on the ACC Network.

And lest the feline mascots feel slighted, besides LSU, there are also the South Alabama and Southern Jaguars, and the Arizona Wildcats (hosting the Tucson Regional).
