The Super Bowl 55 teams are both good, but here’s why you should root for Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the legend that is Tom Brady as their quarterback, duh. That brings a colossal level of confidence to the table, and playing in their own city should also help. But it would still probably be considered a pupset victory if they could pull out the victory.

But Brady isn’t the only part of the star power – they also have pass catchers like receiver Mike Evans and tight end Rob Gronkowski, and fearsome pass rushers on defense like Jason-Pierre Paul and Ndomakung Suh. Manning the sidelines is head coach Bruce Arians, who led Kurt Warner to the Super Bowl in 2008.

Furthermore, even without counting getting Brady, Tampa sports has had an amazing year as far as on-field results go, with baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays making the World Series, hockey’s Tampa Bay Lightning winning the Stanley Cup, and basketball’s Toronto Raptors temporarily making the city their home. Additionally, minor league soccer’s Tampa Bay Rowdies were named co-champions of the USL, while the Tampa Bay Vipers made their debut in the revived XFL.

While he doesn’t cover the Bucs, Call to the Pen site expert (editor) Dave Hill is a longtime fan of the franchise, and he is particularly appreciative of Shaq Barrett’s and Devin White’s efforts on defense.

“Being able to be the first team in NFL history to have a home Super Bowl is an amazing accomplishment,” Hill told Dog O’Day.

For the casual fan and dog lovers, Holland is a huge Bucs fan, living in the Tampa area as she does, and she and her dad Adam explored through the stadium area earlier this week (check her Instagram for more info).

The Southeastern Guide Dogs pups are also big Buccaneers fans, giving dog lovers another reason to go with Tampa.

Tom Brady has several dogs, which is a good sign of normality from an otherwise-too-perfect-to-feel-real human.

On the flipside, Tampa has had more than its share of success over the past year, so anything else seems a bit unfair, and the hired-mercenary approach could be a bit soulless, like some NBA championship teams of the past decade.
