Holland the Pup will be reviewing episodes of “The Pack” each week, so she shares her favorite teams after the first episode.
This past Friday night my dad, Traveling Food Dude, and I cuddled up on the couch to watch a new reality TV show on Amazon Prime Video called ‘The Pack.” Since The Pack is an adventure-based competition/travel show, it’s pretty much my favorite thing ever.
Oh my gosh, this show is going to be so fun to watch because it consists of 12 doggos and their owners traveling all around the world having amazing experiences along the way. It kind of reminds me of my adventures over the past two years. And did I mention the show is hosted by the one and only Lindsey Vonn (Olympic champion skiier) and her Cavalier Lucy?
Before I got too far into the show I figured I should pick my top three teams that I will cheer for along the way. I thought picking three teams would be easy, but as the teams were being introduced I realized it was going to be a really tough decision. Each doggo and their owner has such a special bond and an amazing story. I picked three teams that I felt a personal connection to and this is who they are:
I’m picking Dixie & Brian (The Big Dogs) as my #1 team since this team resinated with me the most because when Brian was introducing his dog he mentioned Dixie was like the daughter he never had. My dad says the same thing about me! Brian said he was very thankful for this experience and would “enjoy the ride” and that’s the name of my column. I also love that Brian is a truck driver, a profession that I have a lot of respect for and consider to be the backbone of our country. Dixie is a therapy dog who visits people in her community and puts smiles on faces and I absolutely love that about her. Even though Dixie barks so much more than I do (though as a Coonhound it’s understandable), I see a lot of similarities between our bonds so this is my number one team.
My No. 2 team is Duchess & Lucy (The Soulmates) because as a Labrador, Duchess looks like a bigger version of me and this is another team that I really love the bond between the doggo and her owner. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I also love that the name Duchess sounds like Dutch and that has ties to my name, Holland!
I told you that it was tough picking my top three teams, but for my No. 3 team I’m going with Allister & Daniel (The Gentlemen). The reason I’m picking these two is that they seem very nice and super chill. Kind of like the bond that me and my dad have. We love adventure but aren’t too wild or crazy, and I think we are alike in that manner.
Even though I picked these as my top three teams to cheer on from the first season of The Pack, I know deep down inside I’ll be rooting for all the teams. If my top three teams are eliminated before the end of the competition I’ll pick a new team to root for until it boils down to the last two. I can’t wait to see how the show plays out and to learn more bout the doggos and humans as the competition progresses. Be sure to check back as I share my thoughts about each of the episodes and until next time, enjoy the ride!
