2020 Week 11 in college football saw many canine schools take the week off.

The college football season continued with 2020 Week 11 this weekend, and for many , it was a strange one, as not that many canine schools actually played, and due to CBS coverage of the Masters golf tournament, even fewer were actually on TV.

As always, though, the football dogs of Instagram were cheering on their favorite teams, and wearing the appropriate team gear while doing so.

For our purposes, 2020 Week 11 got started in the MAC on Wednesday, November 11, as Mission’s Northern Illinois Huskies were thumped by the Central Michigan Chippewas 40-10. NIU is now 0-2 on the season.

On Thursday, November 12 in the Mountain West, the Boise State Broncos (who have a tee-retrieval dog named Kohl) crushed the vet school Colorado State Rams 52-21. Boise State is now 3-1, 3-0 this season, while CSU fell to 1-2 overall and in conference.

On Saturday, November 14 in the Mountain West, the Fresno State Bulldogs triumphed 35-16 over the Utah State Aggies to improve to 3-1.

The Nevada Wolf Pack stayed unbeaten as they won against the New Mexico Lobos 27-20, as Nevada is now 4-0 while New Mexico is 0-3.

In the ACC, the North Carolina State Wolfpack hosted and defeated the Florida State Seminoles 38-22, as NC State is now 5-3.

Lastly, in the Pac-12, Dubs’ Washington Huskies won their season opener against the Oregon State Beavers by a 27-21 score.

And now onto how the vet schools fared during 2020 Week 11…

In the Big Ten on Friday, November 13, the Minnesota Golden Gophers were hammered by the Iowa Hawkeyes 35-7, Minnesota is now 1-3.

In the SEC on Saturday, Holland the Pup‘s No. 6 Florida Gators thumped the Arkansas Razorbacks (who featured former UF quarterback Felipe Franks) 63-35; Florida has the lead in the SEC East with a 5-1 record.

In the ACC, Rookie the Batdog‘s Virginia Tech Hokies were narrowly edged out by the No. 9 Miami Hurricanes. The Hokies are now 4-4 overall, 4-3 in conference play.

In the Big Ten, the Michigan State Spartans were shut out by the visiting No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers 24-0, and they’re 1-3.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Badgers clobbered the Michigan Wolverines by the rather odd score of 49-11 to improve to 2-0.

Still in the Big Ten, the Purdue Boilermakers were beaten by the No. 23 Northwestern Wildcats 27-20, falling to 2-1.

Finally, the Illinois Fighting Illini got their first win of the season after topping the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 23-20.

In the Pac-12 on Fox on Saturday night, the Washington State Cougars hosted the No. 11 Oregon Ducks, and came up on the short end of a 43-29 final score. WSU is now 1-1.

Because of the pandemic, the Alabama-LSU, Ohio State-Maryland, Texas A&M Aggies-Tennessee Volunteers (Reveille the Collie and Smokey the Coonhound’s teams), Georgia Bulldogs-Missouri, Auburn-Mississippi State Bulldogs, Rice-Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and Lousiana-Monroe-Arkansas State Red Wolves games were all postponed, while several others were canceled outright.
