It’s Fall y’all, so that means that Dogtober Fest has returned for a good cause!
Right about now, the world is kind of in a state that none of us have really experienced before in our lifetimes. Have you recently told yourself “I could use a drink right now”? Well, I’m sure that you have and to be honest, even your dogs could probably use one right now, really, so why not have a Dogtober Fest to celebrate?
Lucky for you (and your dogs), Harpoon’s two new and latest releases are a Dogtober brew for your dog and a Dogtober Fest-themed and related brew for their human (being you of course)! How cool is that? So, basically, for the doggos out there who could use a cold one, it’s an alcohol-free peanut butter lager called Bow Wow Brew. In honor of Harpoon’s national Dogtober Fest celebration, it’s known as their ‘limited edition libation’ for the Fall time this year in 2020!
Dogtober Fest is a great little thing for both you and your dog(s) to be enjoying!
You might be asking yourself why your pooches must have a non-alcoholic and puppy-friendly brew instead of taking a sip of a human’s cold one. Well, if you weren’t already aware of this pretty cool fact, dogs are actually allergic to both hops and alcohol, so the Bow Wow Brew’s recipe had some tweaks in it.
Here’s what they had to say about how their dog-friendly brews are made and what’s inside of them all:
"Gibney made a wort — the liquid that’s the base of all Harpoon’s beers — with barley malt, and then added a generous helping of peanut butter powder, a version of Harpoon’s house yeast that’s been boiled to make it dog-friendly, and then a bit of the lactobacillus bacteria, which lends a tangy taste to some fermented foods."
(And don’t forget, there was also the Busch Dog Brew bone broth released a couple months ago.)
Wanna know the cutest part of this whole story and thing regarding Harpoon’s 3rd Annual Dogtober Fest? The label of all of the dog-friendly beer brews showcase a picture of an adoptable dog that’s looking for their forever home. How can you get much cuter than that?!
If you’re looking for a toy as well, Target’s brand of dog toys sells a Pumpkin Beer plush squeaker toy for dogs to enjoy as well (I had one for my Pup)!
