“The Pack” brings Amazon Prime Video a dog travel competition series
Upcoming Amazon Prime Video series “The Pack” is the latest canine competition series.
The Pack, a new canine competition series from Amazon Prime Video, will be coming to the streaming service in the near future.
Hosted by Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, it will consist of a dozen teams of humans and dogs traveling across multiple continents.. If A&E’s America’s Top Dog is the canine equivalent of American Ninja Warrior, then The Pack is The Amazing Race for dogs.

“The Pack is an uplifting and exhilarating new unscripted series, celebrating one of the most unique and universally-recognized relationships we have – between people and their best friends,” Albert Cheng, Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios, said in a press release.
According to Deadline, the teams will take on various challenges, with a group of veterinarians and dog experts to make sure the puppers stay safe throughout the process. The winning team will get $500,000, with another $250,000 going to an animal-focused charity of their choice.
Amazon also donated an additional $250,000 to various charities throughout the filming process in an effort to help dogs around the world.
Vonn, who won the gold medal in the downhill at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lucy, who will accompany her throughout the series, much like Antonio Ballatore’s Edie on Animal Planet’s home renovation series Animal Cribs.
“I have overcome many obstacles in life, but one thing that has reigned true during good times and bad has been the love of my dogs,” Vonn said in a press release. “Like many times before, Lucy will be by my side on yet another one of life’s adventures, and I’m excited for everyone to watch and cheer on these incredible contestants and their beloved companions.”
During her career, which lasted from 2002 ti 2019, Vonn won World Cup events in all five disciplines of skiing – downhill, Super-G, giant slalom, slalom and super combined – and a total of 20 World Cup titles (4 overall, 8 downhill, 5 Super-G and 3 combined) and 82 races. She also won two FIS World Championship titles in the downhill and Super-G in 2009.
As a three-time Winter Olympics medalist, she also competed in the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, the 2006 Turino Games, the 2010 Vancouver Games, and the 2018 Pyeongchang Games.
She is still part of the sports world, however, as she is engaged to the charismatic New Jersey Devils defenseman PK Subban.
While the release date for The Pack is not known at the moment, it will debut sometime this year.
