Scoob! no longer has a release date after being moved from May calendar
There is no longer a release date for the upcoming animated Scoob! movie, and it makes sense in light of current shelter in place orders.
If you are a fan of Scooby-Doo, and have been looking forward to the release of the Scoob! movie, then we have some sad, but not so surprising news. It seems that Warner Bros. has taken the film off the release schedule for May 15.
In a piece from Deadline talking about Warner Bros. plans for their upcoming movie slate, it was revealed that Scoob! was being removed from the schedule. And while this is not a surprise, what might be considered surprising is the fact that there has not been a new date revealed for the movie’s release.
This is definitely sad for those of us who were excited to dive into the origins of Scooby-Doo and his friends, and finally see how they became a team. As fans of the characters, we were looking forward to learning more about how they became a crime-fighting team, especially with Scooby as their wingpup! At the same time, we were also looking forward to a new mystery needing to be solved as well.
Basically, we were excited to see Scooby-Doo and the gang actually returning to the big screen, so it’s disappointing that we won’t even get to stream the movie in May.
However, it makes sense that the studio would hold off on releasing the film in an effort to give it the best chance of success. Now we just have to wait to see when the studio decides to set the new release date for Scoob!, and if it will be sometime in 2020.
