A lodge in Utah has all the makings of the perfect dog (and pet) friendly resort.

It’s one thing to be a dog-friendly lodge, but in Utah, there is a resort that has taken this simple amenity to the next level.

The Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile has probably the best setting for a dog-friendly resort. Based in Kanab, this place is a splendid option if you’re traveling with your pet to explore the sheer beauty that is Southern Utah.

According to What Stirs Your Soul?, the resort (officially called a “roadhouse”) opened its doors in January, and it has earned raved reviews for being quite possibly the most pet-friendly hotel in existence. (Which is saying something, because there are a lot out there.)

Inside, you’ll find a pullout pet bed and other touches that will make your dog feel like he/she is the most important guest at the resort, not just some amenity. Those touches include a personalized nameplate, welcome treat, their very own drinking fountain (score), and a fenced-in park for your four-legged BFF to run around and meet new friends.

Speaking of the park, the reviewer for the resort gave it rave reviews, citing its huge room to roam and a splash zone for those who want to visit in the heat of the summer. If you have smaller dogs, fear not as there is a separate, smaller park for the little ones.

The builders of this resort really put in a lot of thought into making this a star-resort for dog and pet owners. Think about it? How many other resorts go all out to make the pets feel not only welcomed but the star of the show? I can almost be certain that it’s not many.

So if your travel plans take you to majestic Southern Utah for the spring or summer, make sure to book a room at the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile, where your pet will stay for free. For more information, be sure to check out their website for further details.
