Chiefs Super Bowl win means shelter fees taken care of
The Chiefs Super Bowl victory means that many rescue dogs have a better chance at adoption as Derrick Nnadi paid their fees.
The Chiefs Super Bowl LIV victory on Sunday means a win for pets, too, as defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi paid the adoption fees for around a hundred rescue dogs at a Kansas City shelter as a way to celebrate.
Dog O’Day learned of this news through Kansas City TV station Fox4.
A second-year player from Florida State, Nnadi has made a tradition of paying the adoption fee for a rescue dog at the Kansas City Pet Project after each win during the 2019 season, according to USA Today.
Since Kansas City went 15-4 during the 2019 season before taking Super Bowl LIV from the San Francisco 49ers by a 31-20 score in Miami, that means close to 120 dogs have their adoption fees taken care of thanks to Nnadi’s efforts.
Nnadi announced this news on Monday morning, February 3, on his Twitter..
The caption read, “The perfect way to cap off this great season.”
This is an amazing way to celebrate in our opinion.
During the regular season so far in his NFL career, Nnadi has 35 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception. In five career playoff games, Nnadi has five tackles, and two tackles for loss. These stats come from Pro Football Reference.
The Kansas City Pet Project’s main campus seems to be located at 7077 Elmwood Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, 64132, phone number 816-683-1383.
One of the KCPP adoption locations is the Zona Rosa Adoption Center, located at 8721 North Stoddard Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri 64153, that phone number is 816-587-0224.
