Week 13 of the 2019 college football season saw a lot of big games and not much in the way of surprises.

Week 13 means that the 2019 college football season is about over with, and most teams’ destinies for the bowl season are nearly settled.

As always, the dogs of Instagram are cheering on their favorite teams from the couch, wearing the appropriate bandanna, T-shirt or collar.

Also as always, Dog O’Day gives a recap of how the canine schools fared.

Nikko the Pomsky was all set for a bunch of good TV watching, including football, of course.

The action of Week 13 began on Tuesday, November 19, of all things, in Mid-American Conference as Mission’s Northern Illinois Huskies fell to the Eagles of Eastern Michigan by a 45-17 score. Northern Illinois drops to 4-7 overall with this home loss.

On Thursday, November 21 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the North Carolina State Wolfpack went to Atlanta and lost to the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets 28-26, which drops NC State to 4-7 this season.

Most of the action happened on Saturday, however. In Conference USA, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs fell to the UAB Blazers 20-14, it was their third loss in a row after reeling off eight wins to begin the year.

These Dachshunds were all ready to cheer on No. Ohio State as they took on No. 9 Penn State in the Horseshoe.

Luckily for these Big Ten doggos, the Buckeyes stayed undefeated with the 28-17 triumph.

In the Sun Belt Conference, the Arkansas State Red Wolves triumphed over the Georgia Southern Eagles 38-33, improving to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Sun Belt.

In the American Athletic Conference, the East Carolina Pirates continued the weary journey of the UConn Huskies this season, defeating them 31-14 to drop UConn’s record to 2-8 (0-7 American).

In the Southeastern Conference, Reveille’s Texas A&M Aggies met Uga’s No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs on the football field for the first time ever, in a rainstorm, and Georgia pulled out a 19-13 win that locked them into the SEC Championship Game in a few weeks.

In other SEC news, Bully’s Misssisippi State Bulldogs are leading Abilene Christian 38-7 late in the fourth quarter, and Smokey the Coonhound’s Tennessee Volunteers are leading the Missouri Tigers 24-20 late in the fourth.

Wrigley and Theo got some attention from Mizzou students while tailgating.

In the Pac-12 Conference, Dubs’ Washington Huskies are currently trailing the Colorado Buffaloes 3-0 late in the first quarter.

In the Mountain West, the Falcons of Air Force thumped New Mexico’s Lobos 44-22 in a rescheduled game that was delayed due to a New Mexico player’s death several days before kickoff.

The UNLV Rebels won their final game at Sam Boyd Stadium 38-35 over the San Jose State Spartans, improving to 3-8 this season.

Still in the Mountain West, the No. 20 Boise State Broncos were set to play Utah State in Logan, and Nevada’s Wolf Pack and Fresno State’s Bulldogs were set to tangle, though neither game had started at the writing of this article.

Week 14 will see the regular season come to a close on a football-packed holiday weekend.
