Week 11 of the 2019 college football season saw a lot of very good boys and girls among the dogs of Instagram cheering on their favorite NCAA Division I schools.

Naturally, many wore their team’s jersey, T-shirt, or bandanna as well to complete the gameday festivities.

And as always, Dog O’Day gives a recap of how the canine schools fared this weekend.

This was the first week of the season using the College Football Playoff rankings instead of the AP rankings.

Week 11 started for us on Friday, November 8, in the Pac-12 Conference, as Dubs’ Washington Huskies took a road trip to face the Oregon State Beavers, winning 19-7 to improve to 6-4 (3-4 Pac-12), meaning that they’ll be going to a bowl game this season.

On Saturday, November 9, one of the biggest games of the day took place on ABC in the Big Ten Conference in a West Division clash between No. 4 Penn State and No. 17 Minnesota for the Governor’s Victory Bell.

This Pug was dressed in style, rocking the maroon jersey and the baseball cap, and the Golden Gophers remained unbeaten as they took down the Nittany Lions 31-26 with the help of three interceptions.

In the Atlantic Coast Conference, the No. 5 Clemson Tigers clobbered the North Carolina State Wolfpack 55-10 in the night game on ABC. NC State fell to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the ACC.

In the Southeastern Conference, Uga’s No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs shut out their East Division foes the Missouri Tigers 27-0, improving to 8-1 (5-1 SEC).

Smokey the Coonhound’s Tennessee Volunteers took a road trip to Lexington and beat the Kentucky Wildcats 17-13. Tennessee is now 5-5 overall and 3-3 in SEC play.

Jax the Golden Retriever made sure to wear his Wisconsin bandanna as the No. 13 Badgers took on the No. 17 Iowa Haweyes on Fox. Wisconsin held on to eke out a 24-22 win.

In the American Athletic Conference, the rough season for Jonathan’s UConn Huskies continued, as they were obliterated by the No. 20 Cincinnati Bearcats 48-3, falling to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

In Conference USA, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs pounded the visiting Mean Green of North Texas 52-17. Louisiana Tech is now 8-1 overall and 5-0 in C-USA play.

In the Mountain West Conference, No. 22 Boise State triumphed over their guests from Wyoming 20-17, making the Broncos’ tee-retrieval dog Kohl a very happy boy. Boise State is now 8-1 overall and 5-0 in MWC play.

The Utah State Aggies traveled to Fresno and toppled Fresno State, with the final score reading Aggies 37, Bulldogs 35. Fresno State falls to 4-5 (2-3 MWC).

The Nevada Wolf Pack won their road game against the San Jose State Spartans by a 17-13 score, which means Nevada is going bowling as their record now sits at 6-4 overall (3-3 MWC).

Finally, the scheduled game between the Air Force Falcons and the New Mexico Lobos was postponed.
