Nintendo Switch: Luigi’s Mansion 3 has a pettable dog
Luigi’s Mansion 3 has a pettable dog as a major character.
Luigi’s Mansion 3, the third in the series featuring Mario’s brother in a haunted house, not only features familiar goofy Nintendo elements of whimsy, but also includes a major character who is a dog.
And, what’s more, this ghost dog, called Polterpup, is pettable, according to video game news site Twinfinite.
Twinfinite says that early on in the game, players can walk into a bathroom and give Polterpup a good head scratch, who will then lick Luigi on the face.
It sounds pretty adorable, and if you’re hunting ghosts in a creepy old abandoned hotel, who wouldn’t want a canine friend as backup?
Luigi’s Mansion 3 will release on the Nintendo Switch, just like November’s Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will feature a Corgi-like Pokemon called Yamper.
The first game in the series, Luigi’s Mansion, came out in 2001 for the Nintendo GameCube, while the second game, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, released in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS. The original game was re-released for the 3DS last year.
According to the game’s Wikipedia page, Luigi, his brother Mario, Mario’s girlfriend Peach and a handful of Toads are going on vacation, where everyone else gets captured by the ghoulish King Boo.
Luigi and Polterpup, along with some other allies, must rescue their friends and restore the elevator back to working condition. Good thing they have a vacuum/gun gadget called the Poltergeist G-00 to help their quest!
Luigi was introduced in 1983’s Mario Bros, and he is taller, more cautious, and more even-tempered than his brother, and can jump higher, providing slightly more agility and speed in the Mario Kart games and some sports titles like Mario Power Tennis and Mario Super Sluggers..
