Bunsen the Science Dog has pointed out a flaw in dog Halloween costumes, and it’s something we should have noticed earlier.

Bunsen the Science Dog, one of Twitter’s favorite scientists (along with Agents of SHIELD’s FitzSimmons), has pointed out a serious problem with dog Halloween costumes.

In short; They’re too small.

This was demonstrated in a post from Thursday morning, October 3.

Of course, Bunsen is a Bernese Mountain Dog, which are an enormous fuzzy breed originally used as general purpose dog of all work.

They are an affectionate and gentle breed, and Bunsen is no stranger to wearing costumes, as he frequently joins in the cosplay efforts of his human family.

“Con: Being a giant monster fluff dog means zero Halloween costumes fit me made for dogs,” Bunsen wrote in the caption

“Pro: Being a giant monster fluff dog means ALL human Halloween costumes fit me perfect!”

But still, why don’t more dog clothing companies think about the fact that some dog owners have massive breeds and still want cool costumes for their pups?

Dog Halloween costumes just aren’t designed for big dogs like him. They’re more suited to medium-sized puppers like Dog O’Day staff dog Troy, who will be a prisoner this year.

The Shed Defender, on the other hand, does come in large sizes, and it could easily double as a superhero outfit, or a suit for skiing or speed skating.

The Shed Defender ranges in size from Mini (four to eight pounds) up to Giant (over 150 pounds), and comes in ten different color patterns to choose from.

Bunsen is also looking for costume advice for a paired idea with his nerdy human dad, so send your suggestions to @BunsenBernerBMD on Twitter and @BunsenBerner.BMD on Instagram.
