2019 canine college football roundup: Week 2

Week 2 of the college football season contained a lot of thrills and some scares.

Week 2 of the 2019 college football season featured a lot of overtime games, and as always, the dogs of Instagram were cheering on their favorite teams from the comfort of the living room couch.

As always, Dog O’Day presents a recap of how the Division I canine schools fared in the weekend’s action.

On Friday, September 6, Kohl the Lab was a happy tee-retrieval pupper as his No. 24 Boise State Broncos improved to 2-0 after winning a 14-7 defensive struggle against the Marshall Thundering Herd from Conference USA.

Smokey the Coonhound’s Tennessee Volunteers were defeated 29-26 in double overtime by the BYU Cougars.

On Saturday, September 7, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs topped the Grambling 20-14.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs pounded the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles 38-15 in Starkville.

Mighty Tiny the Pit Bull mix enjoyed watching Mom watching as the No. 5 Buckeyes steamrolled over the Cincinnati Bearcats 42-0.

North Carolina State’s Wolfpack made it two in a row as they toppled the Western Carolina Catamounts 41-0.

The No. 12 Texas A&M Aggies went to Death Valley to face the No. 1 Clemson Tigers, unfortunately falling 24-10. But on the plus side, Reveille the Collie made a new friend.

Uga’s No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs crushed the Murray State Racers 63-17.

The South Dakota Coyotes were obliterated 70-14 by the No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners in Norman,

The Northern Illinois Huskies traveled way west to face the Utah Utes, falling 35-17.

Jonathan didn’t fare any better than NIU’s Mission did, as his UConn Huskies were beaten by the Illinois Fighting Illini 31-23.

Daisy the Maltipoo was showing her Syracuse pride as the No. 21 Orange took on the Maryland Terrapins. Unfortunately, Maryland cruised at home, winning by the lopsided score of 63-20.

Blue the Dachshund and his much-larger massive Bevo stuffy were ready for the No. 9 Texas Longhorns’ showdown with the No. 6 LSU Tigers in the ABC Saturday Night Game of the Week. In a thriller, LSU emerged victorious 45-38.

Nevada’s Wolf Pack was decimated by the No. 16 Oregon Ducks 77-6.

In a storm-delayed Fox Sports 1 Game of the Week, the No. 14 Washington Huskies narrowly fell 20-19 to their Pac-12 North rivals the California Golden Bears.
