Country music star Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany have adopted a new puppy.
Dog O’Day learned of this news through People Magazine.
Brittany announced the news on her Instagram Tuesday, after they adopted him following a weekend getaway in St Louis.
“Y’all, we have a new baby boy,” she wrote in the caption. “His brothers and sisters were found in a drain pipe on an extremely hot day in St Louis.”
The Aldeans adopted the still-nameless puppy from Stray Rescue of St Louis, where his seven siblings are still awaiting their furever homes.
Our favorite suggestion in the comments for a name was “Drano,” because “he was clogging the pipes.” one-hit wonder (“Stealing Cinderella”) Chuck Wicks suggested the rather bland “Little Buddy,” while several people suggested “Nash,” for the city of Nashville.
As a rescue dog, it’s likely impossible to fully know the puppy’s breed history, but it looks similar to a Boxer, based on that photo.
According to Taste of Country, it was shortly after the one-year anniversary of the deaths of her grandmother and her faithful French Bulldog Bentley, who passed away within an hour of one another.
Aldean was surprisingly left out of the 2019 CMA Awards nominations, which were recently revealed by Billboard.
He is best known for his singles “Big Green Tractor,” “Fly Over States,” “My Kinda Party,” “She’s Country” and “Tattoos On This Town,” and is generally considered one of the pioneers of “bro country,” an irritatingly shallow style that has dominated the genre over the past decade.
In the past year, there have been a lot of country stars welcoming fur-babies to the crew: Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi adopted a Lab named Moose, American Idol judge Luke Bryan welcomed a senior dog named Poochie to the family, and Keith Urban and his wife, actress NIcole Kidman, adopted Julian.
