Snoopy and NASA team up for McDonald’s Happy Meal toys
By Madison Sago
Meet “world-famous astronaut” Snoopy in the new “Discover Space with Snoopy” themed Happy Meal and toys at your local McDonald’s today!
Charles Schulz’s cartoon pup and everyone’s favorite comic strip beagle is now at your local McDonald’s! In a collaboration with NASA, kids (and adults!) can enjoy Happy Meals with Snoopy toys, books, and fact cards about space! An article from collectSPACE explains that the “Discover Space with Snoopy” promotion had been available worldwide before and that the Peanuts pup’s relationship with NASA goes back 50 years! The article also says that:
"…the promotion builds upon the space agency’s recent agreement with Peanuts Worldwide to use Snoopy to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education."
The article shares that these Happy Meals will include a toy or book that is focused around NASA missions and of course features the cartoon pup in his iconic orange space-suit! According to collectSPACE the four toys that you could collect in these Happy Meals are:
"“Moon Walker,” a wind-up Astronaut Snoopy figure that walks backward, similar to the style of the dance move of the same name;“Rocket Ride,” a pullback toy featuring Snoopy and Woodstock riding on NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft;“Space Buggy,” a pullback toy styled after NASA’s Mars rovers Curiosity and Mars 2020; and,“Take Off Launcher,” a spinning top that launches Astronaut Snoopy from atop NASA’s SLS rocket."
There are also four books to collect as well through a partnership with Reading is Fundamental (you can learn more about the space themed books through their website)! The books and toys can also give you even more activities and a Snoopy surprise when you scan them using the McDonald’s Play App on your phone!

Ultimately, the adorable Peanuts and space collaboration is aimed to promote literacy and kids’ interests in STEM careers. Honestly, I’ll be heading to my local McDonald’s to grab one of these toys! Who says older pups can’t enjoy a nice Happy Meal? These cute collectible toys and books can appeal to the young and the old alike, and are great ways to get kids involved with space and technology. It sounds like a win-win in my book!
Will you be heading to a McDonald’s to see your kids enjoy these Happy Meals? Will you be grabbing one for yourself! We don’t judge! Let us know in the comments!
