Father’s Day is here, and we have some good gift ideas for the dog-loving dad in your life.

While it might not be quite as big of a deal as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day is still worth celebrating.

And many dads love their doggos, of course. (And tend to possibly spoil them.)

With that in mind, Dog O’Day has some ideas for canine-centric gift ideas….they just won’t be there for Dad ON Father’s Day itself, because it’s one of those holidays that sneaks up on you without warning, lacking a fixed date on the calendar. (This is one of the many reasons why Thanksgiving is the best holiday.)

Gifts for the kitchen or pantry

Zookie’s Cookies

If you ever wanted to make a special treat for your dog, but didn’t know exactly where to find a recipe for dog treats, then Zookie’s Cookies is coming to your rescue. This premade dog biscuit dough is just popped into the oven, making the experience a snap. They’re even organic! They come in two pleasing flavors – Cocomutt (coconut) and Peanut Barker (peanut butter).

Ice cream

If there’s an Aldi nearby, be sure to grab their new Head to Tail Ice Cream for Dogs, which isn’t technically out yet. They’ll hit freezer shelves for a limited time on June 26, and come in a four-pack for $3. The flavors are Original and Cheese and Bac’n. For more information, see our post about this exciting news here.

A canine cookbook

If you enjoyed the experience of cooking for your dog, or if you want excellent food quality, then look into getting Dr. Judy Morgan’s cookbook Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs, which is available on Amazon. It’s packed with recipes full of natural ingredients, and contains many useful charts. But be sure to read our review first.
