Friends fans hope for a reboot of the sitcom, but a dog version would be better. See what breeds Rachel and her pals would become when Friends go to the dogs!

Friends fans have never stopped hoping that the 1994-2004 NBC sitcom will get a reboot, especially with Jennifer Aniston recently revealing that she’d be willing to play Rachel again, as Today reported.

And while we would welcome seeing Rachel, Ross, and the whole Central Perk gang return to the small screen, we couldn’t resist imagining what would happen if Friends got a spin-off with different dog breeds playing their matching characters.

See if you agree with our casting call.

Dog breeds to play the Friends female characters

Let’s start by casting the female Friends stars.

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) clearly has a match in a fluffy Poodle.

Famous for her hair, Rachel also infamously spent much more than she could afford on a cat named Mrs. Whiskerson.

We feel that if a Poodle were going to buy a cat for itself, it would choose a Sphynx, who would never compete that gorgeous curly pupper fluff.

Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) was the one who always looked sleekly perfect even on the windiest day.

And with her spirited ways, Monica is the perfect match for a Miniature Pinscher.

In contrast, Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) was all about emotions and feelings.

Phoebe could talk to anyone about anything, and inevitably people loved her whatever she did. That makes the adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel the perfect match for the “Smelly Cat” singer.

Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) just couldn’t resist a good joke…and even more, he couldn’t resist a bad joke.

Just like a bouncing, in-your-face Pug, Bing also was lovable for his cute ways.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) played the ultimate womanizer on Friends.

But there was something about that grin and the “aw shucks” personality that made us quick to forgive him. Like a bouncing, grinning Labrador Retriever who just ate all the butter off the butter dish while your back was turned…but well, yes, you just can’t resist him.

Ross Geller (David Lawrence Schwimmer) was smart yet clumsy, sort of like a Border Collie in a china shop who can’t resist showing off his herding skills on the shoppers (ooops! crash!).
